Homeland Security Solutions

Remote areas, for example territory at the border of two countries, can be difficult and very expensive to monitor for homeland security with common surveillance methods. Those involved with illegal activities know this and target these remote areas for border crossing and smuggling.

For this scenario, Mobilicom’s advanced mobile communications system enables surveillance of a virtual border, particularly for large distances and terrain where no physical border or communication infrastructure exits. The MC-1000 offers instant broadband wireless communications that connects sensors, cameras, mobile manned and un-manned platforms with ad-hoc/mesh technology, maintaining constant contact along a remote border even in non line-of-sight conditions (N-LOS). With up to 40MBps of uplink and downlink transmission capability, more information can be shared among security platforms and nodes in these areas and relayed to central command for better surveillance and security.

INSTANT Capabilities – If the territory is remote it usually lacks communications infrastructure, so having an instant independent mobile broadband network is critical to ensure safety and security and is the most cost-effective solution available. The MC-1000 system needs no infrastructure to operate mobile wireless broadband communications, offering an instant virtual border solution. The system supports fixed and mobile surveillance sensors, border posts that require fast upload/download transmission and the mobile respond units that need to pursue threats on the ground, in the air or at sea.

AD-HOC/MESH Capabilities – A team investigating breaches in security must remain in communication with each of its members, collect visual information from scattered sensors and contact each other with video/data exchange while being monitored by central command. Each stationary or mobile node in the MC-1000 system stays connected through the self-forming, self-managing and self-healing of the ad-hoc/mesh network. A group of units using the MC-1000 system is free to go where it needs to during pursuit and remain in contact between the team members, the border posts and central command with real time, broadband transmission.

MOBILE Capabilities – Remote strategic sites or virtual border surveillance and security are dependent on mobile units and teams to survey and cover large areas. Therefore mobile broadband communication is critical for their success. Mobilicom’s 4G ad-hoc LTE solution is among the most advanced wireless communications systems available, improving video, data and voice transmission between teams and remote sites.

BROADBAND Capabilities – With a transmission capability of up to 40Mbps, the nodes of the MC-1000 can transmit video from cameras and data information from sensors in real-time. There are no limitations in uplink speed from one node to another; each node can send up to 40Mbps either in uplink, downlink or any combination of the two. High speed bi-directional UL/DL broadband capability is not supported by regular wireless systems.

The Mobilicom Advantage:
Greater safety and lower cost with instant and ad-hoc/mesh communications

Real-time homeland security and surveillance requires an excellent communications system as a backbone. Border areas can be monitored using Mobilicom’s MC-1000 system instantly, without expensive infrastructure. Communications remain unbroken through the ad-hoc/mesh features of the system, with high level transmission and lower CAPEX and OPEX costs as a result.
